Description

Honouring OMEGA’s legacy of space exploration, this Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon “Black Black” features a 44.25 mm case in polished-brushed black ceramic. The brushed bezel is also made from black ceramic and features a laser-engraved tachymeter scale that is filled with black Grand Feu enamel.

Beneath the front sapphire crystal, the ceramic dial has been sand-blasted by laser and includes a small-seconds display at 9H, a 60-minute and 12-hour recorder at 3H, and a date window at 6H. All of the hands and bevelled indexes are blackened and filled with black Super-LumiNova (green emission).

Visible through the caseback, OMEGA’s self-winding Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900 has been given a special finish with a matte-blackened rotor, main plate and bridges, as well as black varnished engravings. The watch is worn on a black nylon fabric strap that includes a ceramic foldover clasp and ceramised titanium frame-spring folders.

• Tachymeter: A tachymeter watch has a function for measuring speed. It is a chronograph with a graduated dial on which speed can be read in kilometres per hour based on a 1000 metre distance.
• Time zone function: Allows the hour hand to be easily adjusted to different time zones without stopping the watch.
• Transparent caseback: A transparent caseback – frequently made of sapphire – makes it possible to see the movement inside the watch.
