OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond 60 anniversary 42 mm, Canopus Gold™ on Canopus Gold™ 210.55.42.20.99.001

Description

Launched in 2022, to celebrate 60 years of James Bond, this 42 mm Seamaster Diver 300M in Canopus Gold™ has a dial made from natural grey silicon. A nod to the sands of 007’s Caribbean hideaway. Circling the dial is a unidirectional rotating bezel with a paving of shaded green and yellow treated diamonds, with two diamonds at 12 o’clock.

The iconic movie opening sequence, featuring Bond in silhouette and spinning gun barrel, plays out on the caseback, beneath a sapphire decorated with micro-structured metallisation. The “moiré” effect animation is linked to the spinning of the lollipop seconds hand.

Fixing the watch to the wrist is a mesh bracelet and clasp in 18K Canopus gold™.

Providing the power is OMEGA’s Co-axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8807. A luxury version of the 8806, housed inside the classic Seamaster Diver 300M models.

The watch is presented in a mango tree box with mother-of-pearl marquetry, 60 years of Bond logo and 60’s inspired dots. The use of mango tree references the song Underneath the Mango Tree from Dr. No – the first James Bond movie.

Features

• Anti-magnetic: The movement is unaffected by exposure to strong magnetic fields, even those greater than 1.5 tesla (15,000 gauss).
• Chronometer: Label given to a watch which has been successfully tested by an accredited and independent laboratory in order to receive a certificate compliant with the chronometer ISO 3159 standard.
• Diamonds: The hardest, most luminous precious stone whose value is calculated according to the 4C criteria: Cut – Carat – Clarity – Color.
• Helium escape valve: Decompression system which allows helium to escape from inside the watch when the watch is worn for professional use in pressure chambers. (Long-term underwater work, crude oil exploration, etc.)
• Master Chronometer Certified: Guaranteeing the Swiss industry’s highest standard of precision, performance and magnetic-resistance, as set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
• Screw-in crown: Self-locking crown, screwed into the tube of the case, used for highly water resistant divers’ watches.
• Transparent caseback: A transparent caseback – frequently made of sapphire – makes it possible to see the movement inside the watch.
• Unidirectional rotating bezel: A bezel which turns in only one direction. Particularly useful for divers who cannot accidentally rotate it in the wrong direction, which could cause them to miscalculate their dive times. A rotating bezel makes it easy to measure elapsed time.
